Single bet

1 event – 1 tip! The single bet is the simplest bet offered by bet-at-home, with the fastest chance of winning.

Combi bet

Minimum stake, high winnings – the best way to do this is with combi bets! In comparison to a single bet, where you can bet solely on one event, with one single stake you can bet on several matches.

System bet

Win even if not all matches were correctly predicted – this is only possible with system bets! Here there are a variety of betting possibilities. Decide for yourself on the system 3 out of 4, and you've won, as long as three of your bets are correct.

Multiway bet

With this betting type you can place more tips on a particular event. Example: With Bayern Munich playing against Borussia Dortmund, you bet on tip 1 and tip 2 at the same time and therefore minimise the risk.

Aim of the game

For a team to gain victory in Overwatch, they must complete the assigned objectives of the game mode being played before their opponents. In competitive eSports tournaments, there are four game modes: Assault, Escort, Control, and Hybrid.

The first-person hero shooter Overwatch is played in two teams of six. Every player chooses a hero before the game begins. Each character has different abilities and these are very important for their team and the development of the match. However, players are able to change their heroes during the match. The aim of the game is to complete the assigned objectives of the game mode successfully and, above all, before your opponents. It is therefore important to act as a team and to use all the abilities of the heroes skillfully. In eSports, duels are played as best-of-three or best-of-five matches, with one point awarded per map.

Each hero has different abilities, which can be decisive for the development of the match.

Each hero has an ultimate ability. These can prove decisive in team fights. Players automatically build up a meter towards their ultimate ability throughout the match. This meter can be built up faster if the player inflicts damage on enemies or heals allies.

How it’s played

There is glory to be won! In an Overwatch match, heroes do battle in a wide variety of places across the world. There are more than ten maps divided into four game modes for players to enjoy. Each game mode has different objectives which a team must complete in order to win the game. Maps have exciting and diverse layouts for these objectives.

  • Escort: The attackers have to escort their payload to a target destination within a certain amount of time, while the defending team must stop them. In this game mode, the attackers have three checkpoints. Every time they reach a checkpoint, they receive a point and the time limit is extended. Once all three checkpoints have been reached or the time limit expires, roles are swapped.
  • Assault: The attackers attempt to capture two specified checkpoints, while the defenders try to stop them. There is a time limit. Once this time limit has expired or the two checkpoints have been captured, roles are swapped.
  • Control: Both teams try to capture and retain an objective area for a given time in order to win a round. The team who wins two rounds wins the game.
  • Hybrid: This game mode is a mixture of Assault and Escort. In the first section of the map, a point must be captured or defended. If the attackers manage to capture the point before the time runs out, a payload must be taken to a target destination in the second section of the map. In this mode, there are two checkpoints for the attackers. They receive a point for each checkpoint they reach. When they have earned three points or the time has run out, the teams swap roles.

The roles of the heroes

Selecting heroes is a vital part of the game. Players can choose from over 20 characters with different abilities. Their roles are divided into four categories: Damage Dealer (Offense), Defense, Tank, and Support/Healer. A team needs to be balanced for it to be successful. All players have the opportunity to change their character during the game, meaning that they can adapt to the situation on the battlefield. Furthermore, a hero’s ultimate ability "charges up" during the game. This can be accelerated if the player inflicts damage on enemies or heals allies.

  • Damage Dealer: Damage dealers are responsible for finding and fighting against enemy heroes.
  • Tank: The tank is the vanguard of the team. Tanks absorb damage using their protective shields and break up the strengthened positions of enemies.
  • Support: Supports are the healers of the group. In addition to their own powers, they have abilities which can be used to help protect their allies. Supports are also able to improve important tactical abilities of heroes for a short time.

Health and death of a hero

During team fights, heroes are temporarily eliminated from the game. When a hero is eliminated, this weakens their team and thwarts strategical plays. A hero is eliminated from the game for a short time when their health fully depletes. The hero can then rejoin the match once the respawn time has elapsed. The game ends when a team has completed the objectives of the game mode.

Types of bets

Overwatch matches are usually held as "best-of" contests. Three, five, or even seven games are played, each worth one point. The first team to win a majority of the points on offer wins the match.

Betting tips for pros

Eliminated Support/Healer

A team is in extreme danger and heavily disadvantaged if their healer is eliminated. While a team is waiting for their support to respawn, the enemy team has a good opportunity to kill other heroes and complete their assigned objectives more quickly.

Team composition

It is imperative that all heroes on a team cooperate and synergise as they all have different strengths and weaknesses. For example, an offense hero is tasked with damaging enemies, while a support covers the offense hero’s back and strengthens their abilities. A team consisting solely of supports will not be able to effectively attack opponents. On the other hand, a team exclusively made up of offense heroes will never be protected against damage or the risk of being eliminated. The reasons for selecting certain heroes are often linked to the map which is being played.

Cheers, love! The cavalry's here!

Ultimate abilities

Every hero has an "Ultimate Meter". Once this is completely filled, they are able to activate their ultimate ability, or "ult", once. The Ultimate Meter must then be recharged. Ults vary from hero to hero and range from attacks which hit large areas, to crowd control effects, to huge, temporary protective shields. Team composition and ultimate abilities, in particular, can be decisive. Teams can combine and coordinate their ults. For example, movement-inhibiting AoE (area of effect) abilities can be combined with powerful attacks which hit large areas. Such a combination can do massive damage to many enemy heroes at once. A team is at a big advantage if they have more ultimates available than the enemy team, and if all six ults are ready to be used.
